California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP): April 27 – May 8

Dear Parent/Guardian,
There are many ways to measure your child’s learning. Facilitators use report card grades, classroom work, observations, and statewide assessments to gain a full understanding of learner progress. As part of this process, learners participate annually in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).
Depending on grade level, students may participate in the following assessments:
- Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for English Language Arts and Mathematics (grades 3–8 and 11)
- California Science Test (CAST) (grades 5, 8, and once in high school)
Our school will be administering these assessments in person. Testing will take place according to the following schedule:
April 27, 2026 – May 8, 2026
You play an important role in supporting your child during testing. To help your child feel confident and prepared, we encourage you to:
- Remind your child that these assessments are simply one way to understand their learning and growth
- Encourage them to do their best and take their time
- Help them stay well-rested and maintain a regular routine during the testing period
Learners can also explore practice tests at home to become familiar with the format by visiting: https://www.caaspp-elpac.org/resources/preparation/practice-and-training-tests
Assessment results will be shared at or before the beginning of the next school year. These results help identify strengths and areas for growth so we can continue to support your child’s learning both at school and at home.
