iLEAD Lancaster 8th Graders Soar: Glider Flights a Success!

We are incredibly proud to announce the successful culmination of the Soaring Aeronautics Project at iLEAD Lancaster!
Through our partnership with iLEAD Student Aerospace Projects, our learners fully embraced the engineering design process, designing and fabricating their own gliders, studying aerodynamics with pilots, and practicing extensively on simulators. This comprehensive project also incorporated the history of flight, the anatomy of birds, current experimental gliders, and meteorology, providing meaningful context for our 8th graders’ research and writing.
The project reached its amazing final stage when our dedicated learners took to the skies!
On Saturday, October 25, our 8th graders experienced the unforgettable thrill of flying a glider. It was a spectacular day that truly brought their learning to life!
