The success of our learners is the cornerstone of iLEAD education. As such, we have made continuous effort to modify and update the approaches and methods we use to understand and meet each learner where they are to better help them achieve personal breakthrough or make a progress on their individualized goals.Through a synergistic approach with the iLEAD Maker team, and iLEAD (your site) staff, we have decided to update the reports of progress.
What to Expect
The updated Reports of Progress reflect a comprehensive report that really shows a learner’s strengths and areas of growth.
The ROPs have three major components. First is the progress and/or grade part of the report. This is an overall snapshot of the learner’s progress at concepts, skills, and standards. Each learner will receive a progress descriptor as shown on the legend below:
The second part of the ROP is the narrative. Each learner will have multiple narratives written by all their facilitators. These narratives are the most rewarding for parents as they really gain a true understanding of their child’s progress and educational experience. The narrative progress report recognizes that each child is unique and whose development cannot fully be understood or assisted by using a checklist approach. It gives a more detailed description of the child’s work and choices of work. For both the parent and learner, a narrative report assures them that “My facilitator really understands and cares about me/my child.”
The last part is the social-emotional ROP. The development of independence, initiative, responsibility, confidence, social awareness, cooperation, concentration, helpfulness, and commitment to work is a crucial element of the iLEAD curriculum. Our ROP combines the current Learner Outcomes (based on the International Baccalaureate Program Traits) with our newly adopted Character Lab program , which focuses on each learner’s strengths, skills, and mindset.
Finally, our updated ROPs include your child’s Individualized learning Plan (ILP) goals. Facilitators/advisors will have the opportunity to reflect on your child’s academic and social-emotional goal, you all set together during your child’s ILP meeting ,and comment on their progress.
When your learner shares their ROP with you at the Learner-Led Conferences, you will have an accurate and substantial idea of your child’s accomplishments, strengths, and areas that still need growth. We look forward to sharing these with you soon.
