March 24, 30 and 31 are half-days due to learner-led conferences.
They will be scheduled for the afternoons of those days. Keep a close watch on your emails for info on how to sign up. See the below information on what to expect during your learner-led conference and the signup schedule. Please note this is not a parent-teacher conference; it is a conference that your learner will lead so he/she must be present.
Learner-Led Conferences at iLEAD (LLC)
Learner-led conferences create a purposeful way for learners to talk with adults about their learning and offer parents a direct and active role in their child’s school life.
What to Expect at Learner-Led Conferences
A learner-led conference offers your learner the opportunity to share and review their learning process with you, the parent.
The first conference can be overwhelming and learners may be nervous and will need support from their parents. Facilitators are present during the LLC but the learner will be the guide.
What is the Role of the Parent at an LLC?
Parents play an important supportive role in this process. The focus of the conference is on discovery, learning and growth. It is a time for parents to “sit beside” their child and listen as they talk about their learning experiences.
Please note the learner-led conferences last about 10-15 minutes depending on how long your learner talks with you and shows you the tools he/she uses for learning.
