Hello iLEAD Lancaster Families,
As we continue through daily life during this pandemic, we find ourselves constantly adjusting to the circumstances and requirements COVID-19 is creating. We thank you, our families, for pushing through it with us and allowing us to continue as your school of choice. You, your learners, and your families are of utmost importance to us every day. We strive to keep you informed as quickly and accurately as possible with up-to-date information.
We need your help! There is reporting that involves you in an effort to collect accurate attendance information.
Absence Reporting: This information is crucial to ensuring we are following protocol with absences and the reason for them. Our attendance team wants to help you and your learners! The reason for the absence will determine what steps will need to be taken to enable your learner to continue their learning at home under a Short-Term Independent Study (STIS) if necessary, determine excused absences, and if COVID-related, determine what steps need to be taken to support the learner, their classmates, and their families. To help us get a jump start on collecting accurate data, if you haven’t done so already, please click on this Google form if your learner has been absent two or more consecutive days since our return on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
Short-Term Independent Study (STIS): This option is used when learners need to continue learning at home due to COVID-19 related absences. This learning is via Brightspace and on a temporary basis with a minimum of 3 days. There is a master agreement (MA) that parents/guardians are asked to sign when STIS is required. This is sent via email. Please sign the MA immediately upon receipt. Many parents/guardians received one last week for the recent quarantine of some classes. While on STIS, learners are required to submit proof of daily learning through Brightspace. Facilitators can give more specific direction about assignments at the time needed.
A note about STIS: An absence notification will be emailed daily via Parent Square while your learner is on STIS. Learners are required to submit work through Brightspace as assigned by facilitators in order to receive attendance credit. Once verified the absence will be updated to present. Zoom participation alone does not qualify for attendance credit.
Zoom while on STIS: Starting immediately, there are Makers providing open Zoom sessions to support learners who are learning at home. Class facilitators will no longer need to have a Zoom available to at-home learners unless they are quarantined and teaching from home.
Our iLEAD Schools Maker team will provide your child with daily support via zoom at from 9-11:30 a.m. for grades TK-8, and 1:30-3 p.m. for high school learners. Learners will be supported by a credentialed facilitator that has expertise in their grade level. If your child will need a laptop in order to complete their assignments, please let us know. The Zoom link is posted on your learner’s Brightspace portal.
COVID 19 Reporting via Crisis Go: Parents/Guardians are asked to register with the Crisis Go website. By doing this you will be able to receive test results via email when taken with our on-site service, upload test results from other providers as well as rapid tests, and track quarantine days. The site communicates directly with our school which streamlines data flow. Please watch the video below on how to upload test results. It is the same process for staff and learners.
Uploading test results in Crisis Go
Haven’t registered? Search your email for Crisis Go. You should have received more than one over the last few weeks. The message will vary but will include the following or something similar to the image here.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration as we learn, grow, and work through this together.
