Up to Bat
Learners have had the opportunity to participate in basketball after school. They were taught basic skills, the importance of teamwork, and given the opportunity to play in scrimmages. The social emotional skills that the learners have developed in sports has carried over in to the classroom.
High school (Innovation Studios) had the opportunity to participate in CIS cross country. At the CIS State Cross Country meet our learners, along with some iLEAD NoHo learners, finished in 4th place overall. One of our learners placed 10th overall for girls!
We have had quite the journey in P.E.! We’ve been doing our routine exercises, giving them the opportunity to experience different sports. Recently, the learners have been playing street hockey. We have also included team building activities. Younger grade levels have been choreographing a dance/exercise routine to a song (with slight guidance from me)!
