MLK Day of Service

Being a school community that prides itself on giving back, our MLK Day of Service was one for the books!

Volunteers set out to accomplish many big tasks laid out before them. Among these tasks was a lot of relocation. Working together, our volunteers did all that was asked of them, and more. Each of our volunteers knew beyond a shadow of doubt that these projects would not only benefit our campus, but the well-being of our learners.

They dug deep in the soil, getting their hands and clothes dirty. Between laughter and anecdotes, they quickly set to work, stopping only for warm drinks and more story swapping. These volunteers truly showed what it meant to work together as a team.

Despite the cold and the chance of getting rained on, they pushed through. While for most, gloomy Saturdays mean sleeping in and drinking hot cocoa, for these determined volunteers, it meant not stopping until their tasks were finished. Their efforts will not go without recognition. To take time out of their restful weekend and give back to our school means more than they will likely ever understand. So today, we thank them!
