Message from the Director

Hello iLEADers,

Welcome back from a week of gratitude. I am so incredibly grateful for all of my experiences thus far at iLEAD Lancaster. Every day, I am moved and inspired by what I see. Every day, I am amazed by the incredible devotion of our staff and their unique ability to teach and inspire our learners. Every day, I celebrate the amazing support of our parents and community. I am so grateful to be surrounded by such a great group of people and I am thankful for all of you.

We have three weeks of focus and learning experiences before winter break. MAP testing will take place within the next three weeks, we will host our annual Winter Boutique, and also host our Winter Production. The MAP testing window is December 3rd-12th, making attendance a very high priority over the next few weeks.

Our Winter Boutique is this coming Friday, November 30. Please support our school by doing some of your holiday shopping at our Winter Boutique. We look forward to seeing you all and receiving your support. Lastly, please look out for an announcement regarding the Winter Production coming soon in Parent Square and the Monday Message.

School Picture Retakes

Lifetouch Photographers will be back on campus this Thursday, Nov. 29, for picture retakes. Order forms are available in the front office, or you can place orders online using the picture day ID code DC018616Y1. Lifetouch guarantees their pictures, so if you are less than happy with the pictures taken in October, simply send the packet back with your learner on Thursday and have them take a new picture!

Christmas Parade Coming Up

The Lancaster Christmas Parade is just around the corner, Saturday, December 1st. Just as in the past years, we would like to extend the invitation to our families and their learners to walk the route with our iSPIRIT Squad.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join us in sharing the great things our school has to offer. Additionally, it shows the support we have from our families. We know how much our families love us, and we want to follow up that appreciation with an opportunity to let you share your voice in our community. This is a super-fun, event, and we know how much the learners and families enjoyed it last year.

Please join with us spreading holiday cheer for all to hear. If you would like to participate, please sign up in the front office, on the signup sheet that has been made available for you, or with our Events Coordinator, Ashleigh Rice, via email at ashleigh.rice@ileadlancaster.org.

Books for All!

Many of our learners received their first book thanks to Ms.Taleen’s efforts and donations already received. Your child will continue to receive a free book every month, but we need your support. Our goal is to keep this program alive and thriving so that ALL of our learners receive one free book every month.

The following message is brought to you by our Reading Specialist Mrs.Taleen Stevens:

“Hi, friends! It is my DREAM to get a new book in the hands of each student at my school each month. For $10, you can sponsor a learner at my school, and he or she will get a new book every month for a year!  I will personally be donating some money from my Sips and Giggles Studio profits, but to reach my goal and make my dream come true, I created a GoFundMe.

Please donate if you can, share if you want, and support us on our journey to inspire EVERY child to love to learn.”

Click here and Donate a new book to a child, every month.

After donating, you may leave a comment stating you are a parent of an iLEAD Learner.

It’s the Season for Sharing, Caring, Giving, and Loving…

Our partners at Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) are having a food drive this season in effort to provide a Hunger-Free Holiday for many of the families within our Antelope Valley community. CCRC’s main giving focus will be collecting critically-needed, non-perishable food items for children over the winter break. We need your help to collect 5,000 bags of food for preschool and school-age children in our Antelope Valley community. Please join us in the food drive and donate non-perishable items right here at school! You will find collection bins in 1st Grade with Ms. Geri’s and Mrs. Jonsen’s classes, as well as in Mrs.Robinson’s 8th Grade class. Thank you for your donations!

Lace Up for Dance Class

Dancing Feet, iLEAD’s Youth Ballroom Program for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders, continues to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. We are preparing for our valley-wide Youth Ballroom Competition at the AV Fairgrounds on February 23. We are still accepting dancers willing to catch up and learn quickly, especially 5th, 6th and 7th grade boys. If interested, see Miss B in 4th grade, Miss Shannon in Innovation, or email Mrs. Wassner at Margaret.wassner@ileadlancaster.org.

A Great Big Thank You

A great big thank you! Our updated front office and drive-through valet pickup system has been very successful, with your help! Thank you for the kind words of support, constructive feedback, and cooperation in helping to create a happy and smooth pickup process each day!

Below are the details on the process:

  • One line into the Office
  • One line to exit the Office
  • Parents/Guardians/Daycare MUST have a valet card in-hand to be permitted to the classes.

** We will no longer be writing passes at the table as this takes our attention away from the learners and adults coming in/out of the office. **

  • Parents/Guardians/Daycare that DO NOT have a valet card in-hand will be asked to wait until 3:30 when staff can do ID verification and issue a pass.

Please note that during 3-3:30pm facilitators are very busy with ensuring drive-through valet learners are sent outside and that office valet learners are picked up by an adult with a valet card. For this reason we ask that you hold discussions with them AFTER 3:30pm. As you know, we encourage parents to foster healthy communication with facilitators, we just need to be mindful of their attention during this very busy process.

We would also like to bring to attention that all adults visiting campus are required to sign in and out at the desk and obtain a visitor’s pass. This includes our parents that volunteer daily. The “why” behind this is for safety. In the case of an emergency we must know who is on campus and be able to account for them just the same as staff and learners. Our visitors and volunteers are important to our community so we must keep them safe too!

DRIVE-THROUGH VALET REMINDERS

  • Valet cards are required to be displayed in windows until learners are placed in cars.
  • Cars without valet cards will be parked and directed to the front office to verify ID for release of learner(s).
  • Drive slow and considerate. Please keep in mind the safety of learners and staff.
  • Questions or concerns can be shared with staff in safety vests during valet.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in finding a win-win for all!

Traffic is a BEAST! This is How We Slay…

Hello, parents! We encourage the use of VALET for all dropoff and pickup for safety reasons. K-4 is a busy commerce street, and we value the safety of our learners! Remember, if you are not using valet, all children should be walked to the front door by their parent/guardian. Learners without a chaperone will warrant a call home.

  • No learners will be released without a valet card and proper ID.
  • Please always enter our lots via driving eastbound on K-4. DO NOT turn left into our driveways and always pull as far to the right (curb) as you can get when using the valet line. PLEASE PULL TO THE CURB WHEN WAITING FOR VALET TO BEGIN. STAGGERING PICKUP PREVENTS A BACKUP DOWN AVENUE K-4. Blocking traffic is illegal. Please DO NOT park in our neighbors’ lots — your vehicle will be towed.
  • Be very mindful when choosing where to park when visiting our campus for any reason. If you need to drop off your learner and valet is over, please park and walk your learner in. Learners without a parent cannot be properly checked in late.
  • Please do not double-park or pull up and let your learner out in front of the school, ever. It is very dangerous.
  • Please remember that our neighbors are very supportive of our site — despite the impact we have on their daily operations — and that all of our neighbors love iLEAD. Let’s show them the same support by parking in iLEAD parking lots ONLY as well as not blocking driveways and always yielding to our neighbors when using valet.

If you need clarification as to where to park, please ask ANY iLEAD employee. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT TURNING LEFT INTO THE VALET ENTRANCE AND OUT OF THE EXIT IS A HAZARD TO BOTH YOUR VEHICLE AND OUR LEARNERS. IT IS ALSO A TRAFFIC PATTERN DISRUPTION.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our learners and your vehicles safe!
