Spanish Translation and Assistance available!

Hello iLEAD families,

Some of you may already know me, but I’d like to formally introduce myself. My name is Noemi Blanco, and I am the school nurse at iLEAD Lancaster. I also help support the front office staff by utilizing my Spanish skills to help translate and communicate with our Spanish-speaking families. I am on campus Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m to 4 p.m. I am also available via email at noemi.blanco@ileadlancaster.org and by phone at (661) 722-4287. I am here to answer any of your questions or concerns that may need translation, and assist your family as best as I can. Thank you all for your time, and I look forward to being of assistance!

Hola familias de iLEAD,

También ayudo a apoyar al personal de oficina al utilizar mis habilidades en español para ayudar a traducir y comunicarme con nuestras familias que hablan español. Estoy en el campus de Lunes a Viernes de 7:30 a.m. a 4 p.m. También estoy disponible por correo electrónico a noemi.blanco@ileadlancaster.org y por teléfono al (661) 722-4287. Second Grade Spotlight

Second grade has been learning all about the five senses. Here is an update from them: We ended our week learning all about how good scientists use their five senses to explore and make hypotheses. We had fun tasting things that were sweet, salty, or sour, listening to different sounds, and touching various textures, etc., all while guessing what they were.

Exploring the 7 Habits: Think Win-Win

Think Win-Win isn’t about being nice, nor is it a quick-fix technique. It is a character-based code for human interaction and collaboration. Win-win is a frame of mind and heart that constantly seeks mutual benefit in all human interactions. Win-win means agreements or solutions are mutually beneficial and satisfying.

MAP Testing

Fall MAP Testing began last week. Please ensure your learners are getting a good night’s rest as well as a healthy breakfast so they are able to test to the best of their ability!

Rare Enrollment Opportunity

We have a very limited number of 6th grade openings for immediate start, so tell your friends and family! Call today or enroll at https://ileadlancaster.org/enrollment/

Traffic is a BEAST! This is How We Slay…

Hello, parents! We encourage the use of VALET for all dropoff and pickup for safety reasons. K-4 is a busy commerce street, and we value the safety of our learners! Remember, if you are not using valet, all children should be walked to the front door by their parent/guardian. Learners without a chaperone will warrant a call home.

  • No learners will be released without a valet card and proper ID.
  • Please always enter our lots via driving eastbound on K-4. DO NOT turn left into our driveways and always pull as far to the right (curb) as you can get when using the valet line. PLEASE PULL TO THE CURB WHEN WAITING FOR VALET TO BEGIN. STAGGERING PICKUP PREVENTS A BACKUP DOWN AVENUE K-4. Blocking traffic is illegal. Please DO NOT park in our neighbors’ lots — your vehicle will be towed.
  • Be very mindful when choosing where to park when visiting our campus for any reason. If you need to drop off your learner and valet is over, please park and walk your learner in. Learners without a parent cannot be properly checked in late.
  • Please do not double-park or pull up and let your learner out in front of the school, ever. It is very dangerous.
  • Please remember that our neighbors are very supportive of our site — despite the impact we have on their daily operations — and that all of our neighbors love iLEAD. Let’s show them the same support by parking in iLEAD parking lots ONLY as well as not blocking driveways and always yielding to our neighbors when using valet.

If you need clarification as to where to park, please ask ANY iLEAD employee. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT TURNING LEFT INTO THE VALET ENTRANCE AND OUT OF THE EXIT IS A HAZARD TO BOTH YOUR VEHICLE AND OUR LEARNERS. IT IS ALSO A TRAFFIC PATTERN DISRUPTION.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our learners and your vehicles safe!

Spotlight a Learner

Do you have a learner who is shining in their community? Email mm.avregion@ileadschools.org with their school name and what they are doing to make a difference. We want to share with our school community the difference-makers on our campus!

About Those Heelys…

We’ve seen an influx of Heelys on campus. Learners are zipping along the halls and on the playspaces. While we LOVE fun and seeing our learners enjoying themselves, we have to ask that they don’t use the wheels while at school. Please understand this is a safety concern for learners and staff. We want to prevent accidents and keep everyone safe. Heelys brand shoes can be worn; just please remove the wheels for school.

General safety guidelines also include no skateboards or bicycles being ridden on campus; they must be carried and walked.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Exploration – Home School: The Studio Experience

The Studio Experience offers the perfect balance of freedom and structure to explore a variety of academic topics! We will start each 6-week session with a thematic topic and guide the learners to explore multiple aspects of it. This will include a fun activity, a group discussion, and individual guidance from the Educational Facilitator (EF).

Learners will then choose their own projects as inspired by the thematic topic. During each session, EFs will provide materials, mini-lessons, activities, guidance, and expertise on an as-needed basis to support each learner in their project. Parents will be updated on how they can support at home, if needed. By the end of each session, the learners who engage with the available resources will provide evidence of their growth that is ready for an authentic audience!

The Studio Experience is offered every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. as a “drop-off day” on the following 6-week rotation schedule:

1: Aug. 29 – Oct. 3

2: Oct. 17 – Nov. 28

3: Dec. 5 – Jan. 30

4: Feb. 6 – March 13

5: March 20 – May 1

6: May 8 – June 12

To sign up, submit your requests to your Educational Facilitator for one of the three session time options:

Session 1: 10 a.m.-noon (A.M. ½ day)

Session 2: 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (P.M. ½ day)

Session 1 & 2: 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (Full day)

All Sessions include Lunch Alive! (11:30 a.m.-noon)

Exploration – Home School: Blended Classes

Mix and Match! Sign up for both the Studio Experience and/or blended classes. Blended classes are individual, 30-minute sessions that are not designed as a “drop-off” day. Classes are held in on-campus classrooms by grade level and are integrated with both on-campus and home-study learners. This gives learners the opportunity to gradually build stronger social skills as they interact with their peers during short collaborative sessions.

Classes are only $45 each per 9-week rotation schedule:

1: AUGUST 21 – OCTOBER 26

2: OCTOBER 29 – JANUARY 25

3: JANUARY 28 – MARCH 29

4: APRIL 1 – JUNE 14th

Ask your EF for specific dates/times offered by grade level class, then submit your request for any of the following blended class options:

  • Musical Theater
  • American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Art
  • P.E.
  • Exploratorium (Computers)
  • Makery (Woodshop)
