Leader in Me Parent / Guardian Survey & Learner Survey Notification

The Leader In Me Survey iLEAD Lancaster

Dear iLEAD Lancaster Parents and Guardians,

Our school is implementing a whole-school transformational process called Leader in Me, which teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to learners and creates a culture of learner empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Starting October 1st through Friday October 15th, our school will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. The data from these surveys will also help us track the impacts of the Leader in Me process and implement key practices more fully. In order for us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, we are asking all full-time staff members, parents/guardians, and learners in Grades 4 through 8 to participate. Below is additional information about the process and content of the surveys.

Parent / Guardian Participation

We are asking parents and guardians to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that is available through the link below. The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household. Your voice matters to us!

The parent / guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about their experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child’s experiences as you answer questions related to their growth.

Learner Participation (For students in grade 4 and above only.)

If your child is in Grades 4 through 8, we ask that they complete a 20-minute multiple-choice assessment. No identifying information will be requested or collected. Learners should privately answer questions about their attitudes and behaviors. They will be able to skip questions and stop anytime they choose. You are welcome to have them complete it now. They will also have an opportunity to complete it during their class time. Please let their facilitator know if they have completed it on their own time so they don’t have to repeat in class.

Results will be summarized by grade level and available to the leadership of our school through a password-protected, data-encrypted website. Some group-level results from the MRA may be shared publicly at things like the monthly iSUPPORT, Ed Talk and Parent University meetings, as well as with stakeholders like district administrators or community groups that support our school.

Leader in Me is a whole-school improvement process based on the idea that everyone can be a leader. This evidence-based approach empowers learners with the leadership and life-skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. Visit the Leader in Me Blog for inspiration and resources or learn more at leaderinme.org.

Please feel free to contact facilitators with questions or email info@ileadlancaster.org. We will be happy to help you!

Thank you,

iLEAD Lancaster Charter School
