Message from the Director

Hello iLEADers,

Welcome back! I hope each of you had a restful and meaningful time with your family and friends during the winter break and were able to utilize Habit 7 and “Sharpen the Saw.” We are thankful for the opportunities to impact your learners. They are the reason we’re here.

Just a few updates:

  • New lunch procedures will be implemented to ensure that proper billing will take place and your learners will have sufficient time to eat.
  • MLK Day of Service is Saturday, January 12th. Please participate and support your school in beautification.

We appreciate you choosing iLEAD Schools and we want to celebrate your choice with School Choice Week, coming at the end of January. Please look out for updates in the Monday Message and Parent Square.

The Leader in Me provides our school with the vision and language to lead the school in a way that addresses all areas of development. Our learners are given opportunities to lead as they discover their own unique gifts. As leaders, they become active, engaged partners in their own education and their self-confidence, responsibility, and initiative grows. Using their unique gifts, the learner discovers how to listen to new ideas, work together to achieve results, and motivate one another to be their best.

Research has shown that the simple act of writing a goal greatly increases the chances of accomplishing that goal. If the goal is broken down into action steps, there is an even greater percentage of success. Our goal for the second semester is to develop and implement action steps toward moving us closer to becoming a Leader in Me Lighthouse school. Please continue to read the Monday Message and Parent Square about this process.

We want our learners to be successful through good, consistent attendance, developing grit, utilizing help from our faculty, and working diligently. As they returned to school on Tuesday, facilitators will be reminding learners on processes and procedures. Just a reminder that attendance is very important for your learners’ success.

Looking forward to an awesome 2019 with our fabulous iLEAD family!

Health Screenings

We are holding vision and hearing screenings for learners in Kinder, 2nd, 5th, and 8th grade on Monday, Jan 14th, and Tuesday, Jan 15th. Scoliosis screenings will also be conducted for 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys. More information to come later this week as it becomes available.

Registrar’s Corner

Hi iLEAD Lancaster Families!

Welcome to the first edition of the Registrar’s Corner! My name is Brittany Ward, and I am the Registrar at iLEAD Lancaster. I am excited to share with you the many wonderful resources available here at iLEAD Lancaster.

Did you know that there are a number of ways to clear your child’s absence(s)?

  1. Call the Front Office at (661) 722-4287
  2. Click here to report it
  3. Email me at
  4. Leave a note to the Front Office. The note can be written by you or by a doctor.

Many of our families also utilize Short Term Independent Study (STIS). STIS is utilized when your child will be out of school for 3-10 consecutive school days. STIS is requested by the parent to me. I collect work from the Facilitator(s) for your child to complete while out of school, and the work is turned back in to me upon your child’s return. When STIS is utilized, the absences don’t count against your child AND they stay caught up on their classwork! That’s a Win-Win!

I look forward to sharing more useful knowledge with you in the weeks to come. Make sure to check your Monday Message every week for updates, resources, and information!

It’s ROP Time!

The first semester has concluded, and it’s time for ROPs to be shared with parents and guardians on Friday, January 11th.

What is a ROP, you ask? It is a Report of Progress (iLEAD’s equivalent of a report card) for learners. Facilitators will send parents/guardians an invitation to Novare, where you can view, download, and print your learner’s ROP. You will need to create an account once you receive the invitation. It’s quick and simple! ROPs are truly valuable in that they are more that just a score. They tell you the personal learning story regarding the academic and social/emotional progress for your child.

Academic Progress is noted for the following subjects:

  • Language Arts
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Exploratory Learning

Social Emotional Growth is shared through assessing the following character strengths, skills, and mindset:

  • Curiosity
  • Optimism
  • Grit
  • Purpose
  • Self-Control (Intrapersonal)
  • Social Intelligence
  • Self-Control (Interpersonal)
  • Gratitude
  • Zest
  • Growth Mindset

Any questions or clarifications may be addressed with your learner’s facilitator. Requests for a printed copy may be submitted to the Front Office.

Books for All!

Many of our learners received their first book thanks to Ms.Taleen’s efforts and donations already received. Your child will continue to receive a free book every month, but we need your support. Our goal is to keep this program alive and thriving so that ALL of our learners receive one free book every month.

The following message is brought to you by our Reading Specialist Mrs.Taleen Stevens:

“Hi, friends! It is my DREAM to get a new book in the hands of each student at my school each month. For $10, you can sponsor a learner at my school, and he or she will get a new book every month for a year!  I will personally be donating some money from my Sips and Giggles Studio profits, but to reach my goal and make my dream come true, I created a GoFundMe.

Please donate if you can, share if you want, and support us on our journey to inspire EVERY child to love to learn.”

Click here and Donate a new book to a child, every month.

After donating, you may leave a comment stating you are a parent of an iLEAD Learner.

Exploration – Home School: New Studio Classes & Tutoring

Studio classes are offered to home study learners exclusively to explore a variety of academic topics! We will start each 6-week session with a thematic topic and guide the learners to explore multiple aspects of it. This will include a fun activity, a group discussion, and individual guidance from the Educational Facilitator (EF). During each session, EFs will provide materials, mini-lessons, activities, guidance, and expertise on an as-needed basis to support each learner with their thematic project. Parents will be updated on how they can support at home, if needed. By the end of each session, the learners who engage with the available resources will provide evidence of their growth that is related to an authentic experience!

Cost: Studio Class prices have been discounted to only $75 each per 6-week session.

Need Tutoring Help?

Sign up for any 5th-8th grade tutoring session and work one-on-one or in a small group with a qualified, credentialed teacher. Classes are held in on-campus classrooms by grade level and are integrated with both on-campus and home-study learners. This gives learners the opportunity to gradually build stronger social skills as they interact with their peers during short collaborative sessions.

Classes are only $45 each per 9-week rotation schedule:
